Volunteering
Take the first step!
Volunteering:
We encourage all of our students to participate in Volunteering during their time in the college. Volunteering can be a great way to enhance your college experience, providing an opportunity to give back to the community while also developing both personally and professionally.
As well as being fun, it can really enhance your CV and employers look very favourably on volunteering because they see that you can develop essential skills that they need such as communication and teamwork skills. Volunteering creates a ripple effect that enriches recipients, you, and society at large. By volunteering, you can contribute to worthwhile causes, help individuals in need, and aid organisations that are making the world a better place.
Each year at the end of September our “Volunteers Fair” takes place in our study hall. Several of our volunteer partners are on hand to let you know what they do, and how you can become part of their organisation through volunteering. An added benefit of volunteering while with us, is that you can also earn a digital badge (Active Volunteer Badge or Fundraising Badge).

The Rainbow Club aims to help, support, and teach people about Autism, how to live every day with it, and the challenges it brings to the child and family. The Rainbow Club teach children and young people to communicate, make new friends, be part of a group, learn new skills, and how to be themselves, proudly accepting Autism, and finding their own place in the world. The club supports children, teens and young adults and their families living with autism by bridging the gap in services and activities so that they can reach their full potential.

Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland focus is to train and place highly skilled autism assistance dogs. Assistance dogs are trained to the highest international standards to provide safety to children in public places. Assistance dogs enable children to go out and about safely and reduce anxiety not just for the child but for the whole family. They can be a lifeline for children and their families when a child is suffering from the sometimes-debilitating symptoms of autism. In addition to the working assistance dogs, we provide companion dogs. Companion dogs can be a welcome friend to someone who struggles to form relationships with their peers and can help reduce anxiety for children and adults with autism. Whilst they don’t have access rights to public places like the assistance dog, they can provide much needed companionship within the home. They also promote responsibility and encourage a healthy exercise routine.
