Study and Computer Facilities - Study Hall

Monday to Wednesday: 8am to 9.30pm and Thursday to Friday: 8am to 4.45pm

There are a number of individual pods/areas available in the Study Hall where you can use a study space and/or your laptop.

Computers are available to students for use throughout the day on the 2nd floor and in the study hall.

ID Cards Icon

ID Cards

All students are issued with a student ID Card. The Campus reserves the right to withhold an ID card that is used inappropriately.

A Student ID card will be for the duration of your programme of study and will be reissued each year as you progress through a programme. There is €15 fee charged for the replacement of a lost ID (payable at reception).

Jobs Advice Hub Icon

Help Hub

Visit the Help Hub in G11 for information about anything college related e.g. booking an appointment with the Skills Hub, Jobs Hub, Support Tutorials, IT support, questions about VTOS, accommodation or any other queries.

Canteen icon

Canteen - FET (Food, Eat, Talk)

This is on the ground floor of the main building. The food served here varies from sandwiches to freshly prepared salads, homemade soup, hot meals, and lots more. It is open from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00 am to 1.00 pm on Friday.

Vending Machines are located on the first floor serving tea/coffee, drinks and snacks.

Recreation Area icon

Recreation Area

The College has a recreation area on the second floor of the main building, commonly known as “The Roof”. Smoking is permitted in this area only. Students are asked to keep this area clean.

The reception is located on the ground floor and is opened Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Green Campus Icon

Green Campus

The college is proud of its long tradition developing a sustainability mindset. We operated a Green Campus that involves students, teachers and all staff to lead projects and develop a more sustainable campus.

College Creche icon

College Crèche

The College Crèche is a purpose-built community facility, Cuddles Creche, situated on 107/108 Douglas Street. Places are limited. For further information and applications please phone (021) 425 5566 or email creche@stjohnscollege.ie.  They operate the ECCE and National Childcare Scheme.

An allowance will be paid towards crèche places in a private or community day care centre. You are advised to look for a crèche place as soon as possible. Please contact the City or County Childcare Committee’s for up-to-date information on allowances as they are in a constant state of flux. Cork City Childcare can be contacted on (021) 431 0500 or email info@corkcitychildcare.ie or check the website for current information on https://www.ncs.gov.ie/en/. The Jobs Hub

The Jobs Hub is a dedicated space to allow you to prepare in a variety of ways for the world of work. It is located in D02, in the ground floor of the college. Appointments can be booked for CV review, interview preparation and other options. To book an appointment, you can use the link on the student app or on the student intranet.

There is an Assistive Technology room (Room 117) with a range of hardware and software available, for students who are registered with our Disability Officer.
