PROGRESSIONS:
MTU Cork – Cork Colleges Progression Scheme (CCPS)
In addition to the Higher Education Links Scheme entry arrangements, Munster Technological University MTU Cork has established a special scheme for students who successfully complete courses in Further Education Colleges in Cork called the Cork Colleges Progression Scheme (CCPS).
Under the CCPS a number of courses in MTU Cork are linked to certain courses in the FE Colleges.
MTU Cork reserves a number of places on its linked courses for applicants receiving specified levels and other requirements in their awards.
Students taking a full QQI Level 5 or Level 6 award linked under the CCPS to a specific course in MTU Cork may apply for year 1 entry.
Students taking a full QQI Level 6 award linked under the CCPS to a specific course in MTU Cork may apply for year 2 entry (for some degrees only – see our progressions database).
All CCPS applicants should apply for the MTU Cork course through the CAO – CAO deadline 1st February. Late CAO applications up to 1st May from candidates other than Mature Students. Applicants to year 1 and/or year 2 need to complete the CCPS application form online by 1st May.
The minimum requirement for Year 1 entry is a full QQI award (see CAO for exact entry requirements to each course).
The minimum requirement for Year 2 entry is a full QQI level 6 award with 5 merits.
Some courses in MTU Cork have more specific requirements. Check our progressions database for further details. If successful, students will receive an offer through the AO in August.
