Early Learning and Care is the new description for what was previously Childcare, and with the change in naming has come a suite of professional awards from entry level qualifications at Level 5 to Honours Degree Level (Level 8), that recognise the value of professionals at all these levels working in ELC settings across the country.

Cork College of FET’s Early Learning and Care course is a 2-year professional programme leading to the Advanced Certificate at Level 6. The first year of the programme provides successful learners with a Level 5 Certificate in Early Learning and Care. The course prepares successful graduates for a profession where lifelong learning and continuous professional development are key features to meet the dynamic and evolving demands of professional practice in early childhood education and care.
