Students will receive the following qualifications if they pass all exams.
- ITEC Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Specialists
- ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Facial Electrical Treatments
- QQI Level 5 Beauty Therapy Award
Applicants who complete and return the processing form before 1st June will receive offers of a place before June 3rd. All applications made over the summer will be processed in August and applicants will be notified late August/early September.
Yes, there is a lot of theory to learn. There are 27 hours of timetabled classes per week, 13 hours of which are for theory
Leaving Cert standard (regular Leaving Cert or LCA) for students under 21 years of age. Experience in the area or a genuine passion for the beauty industry would be beneficial for mature students.
Students who successfully complete the course and achieve a full award may progress onto the CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Diploma course (Level 6) or the Advanced Beauty and Body Therapy (Level 6) Alternatively, they may enter the workplace as a qualified beautician in a salon or spa.

The course will run from September to May. It is a full-time day course with classes timetabled for 5 days a a week.
Biology is not an entry requirement though it is an advantage to have studied it for Leaving Cert as there is a lot of Anatomy & Physiology on the course.
Yes, students complete the QQI Level 5 Work Experience module and will go on a 2-week block work placement during the year. Students are asked to find their own work placement where possible.
The course costs €687 (subject to change) which includes exam fees (QQI and ITEC), student services and materials payable to Cork College of FET – Morrison’s Island Campus.
Yes, students will be required to purchase 2 uniforms and kits (waxing, skincare/body and make up) as well as textbooks, which cost approximately €585 in total. These amounts are payable directly to the suppliers and the amounts are subject to change.
